Diani beach is one of the top tourist destinations on the Kenyan coastline. It's white sandy beaches and crystal blue waters is a sight to behold. Can we just say therapeutic too ;) This is why we chose to end our vacation here. We were in need of a place to relax after all the adventure, drama, history, beauty and adrenaline in Europe for the previous three weeks. We were tired AF and Diani offered just the ambiance for relaxation. Continue Reading
Life is short, life is precious, live it, love it, laugh it out. You never know, one day you could be healthy and the next you are suffering from a terminal disease. Continue Reading
Hallo my good people, I hope you are keeping warm in this weather. I am currently on leave so the morning cold is not my portion this month ;) unless I have an appointment whose timing I was not consulted. Anyhow, we decided to have a quick weekend getaway to Olpejeta this past weekend. Continue Reading
How’s work?” My friend who is on leave asked.
I said “I do not know, I ain’t there, but my body is not complaining.”
“My mind is having fun, on holiday somewhere. As for my body and work, I cannot talk much about them.” Continue Reading
Hello good people,
I am slowly falling in love with African prints, something I never thought I would say. Do not get me twisted I do love Africa and all its beauty, but a few years back this print was simply a traditional/cultural piece that was worn in specific practices. Kudos to all designers whose creativity has brought this new love into the modern fashion. Live Love African :)
For the love of the print, I am serving this piece that I got from Maasai Market for only 1000 Kenya shillings. Continue Reading
Yipee! the rainy season is here and I hope it is going to stay longer. Mahn the heat in Nairobi is killing me! I'm I the only one? I have been finding it difficult to choose what to wear in the heat. I know there is a range of outfits, but when you work outdoors everyday you (I) run short. Here is why: dresses. skirts and shorts are not part of the equation (work rules), too much sleeveless = too much tan and covering up means boiling up. Now you see why I am so excited about the rain! I need to cover up my arms with some fancy sweatshirts, get my skin tone back and of course end the boots camp in my closet :) It has been so long since they saw the light. Continue Reading
I do love my red wine, but I did not know how much until I did a wardrobe clean out. The realization was that I have a fair share of outfits in the red wine color (this includes shoes!). That's how you know true love guys.To myself I promised to reduce on the same, but as the saying goes, true love cannot be denied where it exists :) Continue Reading
So I made a getaway to Samburu last weekend. One long drive but so so much worth it. As usual it was work related and our stay/assignment was at Saruni Samburu: a luxury lodge built on top of one of the many rocky hills in Kalama conservancy. This gives spectacular views from the top and allows some cool breeze through the hot Samburu air. We arrived quite late and booked into our villa. Due to the hot weather, the tents were left open with only a netting (more like a mosquito net) between the wild outside and us. I could clearly see any movements on the outside but i guess the wildlife had a better view due to the lights on our side. Perfect wild getaway. Continue Reading
Hallo Profashionals, How was your Easter? Mine was an amazing experience full of fun road trips and glorious moments with friends and family. For now, allow me to take you back one week prior when I had a weekend getaway at Amboseli. Hidden in the dry Kenyan South is a luxurious safari lodge, Tawi Lodge.
A lodge built with all its facilities facing the snow capped Mt. Kilimanjaro; from the rooms to the dining area, to the bar and the swimming pool, the amazing view of the mountain lingers. Even the bathroom has a window facing the mountain! Waking up to the beautiful snowy view atop the mountain reminded me of my high school days at the foots of Mt. Kenya. Continue Reading
Do you ever feel like taking time to be alone and just think (or not), sit there and enjoy solitude? Read a book, review and laugh at your saved memes or just connect with thy inner self? No? I am the kind of person that once in a while ( a lot of time) likes to take time off to reflect and recharge. I am the type you will find at a corner of the seat no matter how big oblivious of the surrounding, in my own small world, with an insignificant "do not disturb" sign. Such a weirdo I know. But the right description is introvert. Why I'm I telling you all this? Because I found the perfect corner seat, at the perfect quiet place, with the perfect surrounding for those moments.
