Diani beach is one of the top tourist destinations on the Kenyan coastline. It’s white sandy beaches and crystal blue waters is a sight to behold. Can we just say therapeutic too 😉 This is why we chose to end our vacation here. We were in need of a place to relax after all the adventure, drama, history, beauty and adrenaline in Europe for the previous three weeks. We were tired AF and Diani offered just the ambiance for relaxation.
Having arrived on a Monday evening to an apartment with brown outs and brown water running our taps 🙁 there was no option but to leave. I mean how could we survive in such a place after living the first world life? Our best life? I think we just had a moment of culture shock in our own country! Anyway, we opted to let it be and run off to Diani just to take it all in.
Our first two nights at Footprints House were the real definition of a perfect combination of relaxation and comfort. The house is located in a close proximity to Ukunda airstrip, the beach and shops and restaurants. You can opt to order your meals in house or stroll around and experience the local restaurants. Local works best for us anytime.
The plan was to go snorkeling and jet skiing but it was raining elephants and all we managed was a glass boat ride. This is a half day tour where you get to enjoy the underwater while still keeping dry. Unfortunately for us, we still got wet from the rain 🙂 The activity is suitable for families whether or not they can swim.
The last two days were spent at Leopard Beach Resort and Spa. This was more of a work assignment than a vacation but, mixing business and pleasure has never been a problem for us 😉 The customer service and hospitality is top notch. These people attend to your every need at a personal level which makes you feel at home away from home. We did not even realize we were working. The night was filled with some musicals and dances involving the employees and guests. Never had so much fun in such a short time. All in all our goal had been achieved. We had the energy to face our problems back in the house.
Oh how I miss going out and just having fun with friends!!
I hope you are taking this social distancing seriously so we can go back to having fun guys. #stayhome #staysafe #staysane
