The last few weeks have been crazy for me. Juggling between work, school and travel and the blog has left me with no energy. I can not remember the last time I slept enough. Enough here is relative! I need a vacation already! Did i mention my small brother came to stay with me briefly too? He just joined campus and he is super excited and energetic. I wish I could siphon some of that energy and finish my master’s already. This came with some added responsibility right there and more style from his wardrobe 🙂
Being a host, you have to keep your guests entertained. Being an elder sister, you have to take charge and be responsible for the younger ones actions and behaviour. Calling in almost every hour to check on his progress with school registration and just checking on him, you know more like an insecure sibling. I never really thought it was a big one as we always relate well. It is different when you are all under the care of your parents. I must admit being an elder born and having to give advice and guide your siblings is a job in itself!! I have learnt to be patient. I did up my game in cooking too or at least i tried.
It was not all big sister things. Like i said he was a guest and needed entertainment. Lucky for us both we love movies. This is one activity that strengthens our bond. We can watch a series two days and nights consecutively! During this moment, not even food matters. Just me, him, movie. with laughter so hard that we get lost in it. I miss those moments except the part where i have to deal with eye bags all week at work. And weird unending looks and questions like “what do you do at night?”
The best part of the stay for me was raiding his wardrobe! with his permission of course. That is what you get for being an older small (i would like to think sweet)sister.Even his shoes fit. For this reason the next few posts will be all about his wardrobe that i have fallen in love with. The clothes felt so comfortable, it got me wondering why i never thought of it before. Dear small brother, I might be moving in with you for more of these (winks).Simple clothes that can be worn on a weekend or to the office for those of us who are lucky enough to enjoy a casual work environment. More often than not, casual work wear involves wearing jeans on a daily basis. If this sounds like your work uniform, borrowing from his wardrobe will switch it up to a whole new level. While most people are forced to bury a bit of their style sense when they clock in each morning, you don’t have to leave your personal style at home either, add a few accessories and heels to stay in touch with it. I wore his t-shirt, skinny jeans and pumped it up with ankle boot heels for that classic chic look. A big bag was the best accessory to keep the boyish vibe going. I felt like some TV star in this shoot. Let me know your thoughts on the comment box.
Have you ever borrowed from his wardrobe? If not, go for it. You will be surprised by how a simple swap can update your entire look. The fact that they are probably going to be bigger than you makes it better as you will look smaller. Let me know how that goes.
