The word crop top sends my mind into a scary imagination of a bare hanging belly button. As confessed here, I am quite reserved when it comes to showing the skin between my collar bone and thighs(arms raised above the head). This is gradually changing, thanks to the crop top motivation.
You see, this trend is definitely not the easiest to pull off; it requires a daring soul and a well toned stomach. The latter is my motivation. However, if you believe in yourself and do not mind showing inches of your tummy go for it! if you got it flaunt it darling!! Do not cringe because of me. I am just a girl with a few body issues; whose dreams of having great abs run concurrently with dreams of mountains of chocolates and cakes 🙁
If you are like me, relax we can still pull it off. It does not have to be so intimidating. You do not have to show miles and miles of your tummy. There are various ways of wearing a crop top so that only a hint of skin is seen. The trick is to pair it with high waist everything; shorts, skirts, trousers, cutoffs etc. I wore mine as a pencil suit. A pencil skirt is the epitome of sophistication and sleek. In this combination, it tones down the crop top to a more conservative look; more like a party on top and down to business look. The red chain ankle boots gets you back up to the party mode. Be the judges people.
As much as the crop top is a healthy push to me, I have come to love and appreciate the trend. When done right, it is sexy, chic, and sophisticated all at the same time. So get yourself one and lets show some midriff 🙂
