Is it just me or does anyone else walk through Nairobi admiring displays on glass windows? Window shopping literally! Be it gadgets, perfumes, shoes (yes), outfits and beauty products? Did I forget pastries and cakes, I just can’t look the other way no matter how hard I try.
My favourite is a creamy white forest from Cafe Deli; maybe I have not experimented much but so far, even a mention arouses my taste buds. And now I feel like having a piece!!
Speaking of which, father’s day is just one day away and If you haven’t given up on the tie as a Father’s Day gift, you are long, long overdue. If you have no idea what to get him, dont worry Cafe Deli has absolutely got you covered. The society has made us believe that sweet indulgences are for girls and women, leaving the men to do the buying, satisfy our cravings, as they salivate secretly. I asked a friend whether he would seat in a café alone and order a piece of cake. He said no, not because he does not like cakes, but because he thinks it is weird. Most men do not spoil themselves as much as we ladies do. It gets even worse when it comes to our fathers. The best they can do is buy a shirt, a pair of shoes etc; things that are sometimes considered basic. This Father’s day you can decide to surprise him with a delicious cake, specially made for him and watch his reaction. I am sure he has a sweet tooth too. Nothing says “I LOVE YOU” more than a shared meal, and Cafe Deli is giving you the opportunity to do exactly that at a 10% discount for any cake order. It gets even better as they are offering a free delivery within Nairobi, and for those who have sticky fingers like myself, a free cookie to relax your taste buds. Well at least till Dad cuts that cake!
In this world where It is easier for a father to have children than for children to have a real father, I wish a Happy Father’s day to all the men who have been real fathers to their children, biological or not. I hope that you may continue doing so unconditionally and without tiring. The quality of a father can be seen in the goals, dreams and aspirations he sets not only for himself, but for his family. To all ye’ children, head over to Café Deli and appreciate these great men in a tasteful style this year!
Happy Weekend, and a Happy Father’s Day ahead.
