I trust you had yourselves a great weekend and you have carried the same energy to work today, to be honest I have already started the countdown to the weekend, uh I think I started yesterday evening. I just happened to have a great weekend and caaan’t wait for the next!!
Back to business, work here is overwhelming, but I love that I am learning something new everyday, taking up more responsibilities and simply being better at it. I am however still trying, no scratch that, struggling with the waking up earlier challenge I talked about in my previous post. I still hit the alarm stop button within a nano second of play, hug the blanket tighter and convince myself how I need those 10 more minutes as “rest.” Then end up cursing the traffic all the way to work!! Anyone feel me?? No? A bad habit I know, but working on conquering it before it does. It is all about the attitude. Most of us don’t have that willingness to break bad habits. They have a lot of excuses and they talk like victims. Who wants to leave their warm blankets on a cold morning anyway? See, an excuse right there, and to say cold when the sun nowadays is literally scorching by 6AM!!
I am loving this weather though, not the scorching bit nor the concotion of sweat smells in the matatus in the evening! May be i should start a side hustle, something like selling perfumes and deodorants in matatus? Suitable conditions and target market ready! Too much of the kikuyu in me; this weather has the freedom to wear light, more than perfect swimming conditions, no extra layers (read baggage) on the body. I can get away with an all the way poncho swag! An African poncho! The poncho love in me is getting real. Who said they should be worn in chilly weather anyway? Many hugs to my friend Wangari Mathenge for reinventing this particular poncho. It feels like am wearing some sorta wings, ready to fly, to soar up.
