Most of us get into the work force with three goals; a steady paycheck, financial independence and career satisfaction. This is a dream we all have from childhood.
Growing up, all we wanted was to get a good job (engineers, doctors, lawyers and other white collar jobs) and live the life we envisioned in our small minds. Oh yeah I wanted to be a surgeon, until the day I was asked to slaughter (read operate on) a chicken 🙂 . Long story but to cut it short, after four “bloody” hours the chicken was done, and so was the dream!!
Going to work has become routine; wake up, work and go back home. What we fail to understand is that there is more to satisfaction than paying billsWe do not think of the value we bring to our work places. A personal feel of pride and enthusiasm brought to work every day, to me, is the ultimate satisfaction. Let me ask, “What do you do for a living?” The manner in which you answer this question portrays how you feel. Do you take pride in what you do? or are you “just” a banker, doctor, artist…? Being proud of what/who you are makes you empowered, you feel energized to soar up in your career ladder.
Take for example, when we go out, there is so much energy, we dress the best and bring out the divas to make merry. We are proud of using our hard earned cash on ourselves, but are we really…proud? satisfied?
Talking of divas I’m bringing out the diva in me in a high low dress. I love its edgy uniqueness emphasized by an asymmetrical hemline. This outfit gives you the glamour of a long evening dress with the style and comfort of a short dress. And yaas… I’m still on colour experimenting!!!
So all yah beautiful people let’s bring the divas to work too!!!
