Just because you think underwear is your private business and that no one can see it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pay attention! Underwear is the foundation of a great outfit, so you can choose to have a flattering one or a not so flattering. From panty lines, camel toes, bumps to back bulges, your choice of underwear can really make or break your look.
A picture speaks volumes, and what we choose to display with our clothing speaks deeper about our taste and personality. Being fashionable at all times sets us apart from the crowd, standing out as elegant, beautiful and stylish. We give so much attention to the latest styles and trendy accessories in the market and forget that crucial detail in making a fashion statement; the underwear. I get that the world of modern underwear is vast, the cuts, the highs and the lows can all be ignored and we continue wearing that 5 pack set bought a while back and keep bothering our girlfriends by asking “does it show?” The goal here is not to make you wear lustful panties and bras, but to help outline the common mistakes we make when choosing our underwear, and ultimately fix them to compliment your fashion statement by making the underwear the last thing any person notices.
Too-tight underwear is generally unflattering (hello, visible bulges and puckering), so the next time you hate on your bulging belly or skin spilling out from the edges of your bra don’t forget to blame it on your faulty underwear! If your tight garment is a shape-wear, you risk some health implications like decreased blood circulation! Do not buy loose underwear either, just the perfect fit and you will be loving yourself all the way.
Panty Lines/ Showy Underwear
I need not mention how this is such an unattractive offense that ladies have made a time too many with tight outfits. With this technological era where even the underwear has evolved, not taking note is a serious fashion crime. Invest in some G-strings and thongs, and if these make you uncomfortable, you can always opt for seamless panties and bras.
These are caused by too little coverage that leaves nothing to the imagination, so going commando with tight pants might get rid of the panty lines but create that not so appealing wedge like at the front.
Bra Strap Peep/ Panties above
While showing a little pop of colour from your bra might be fashionable for some, I do not thing it is professional in the office setting. It becomes worse if you decide to go sleeveless or wear a racer back top with a tattered bra strap showing, yikes! Make sure to invest in multipurpose bras that allow you to change the straps or remove them all together to fit the dress. A panty showing on top of your trousers is all shades of unattractive, I have no words for this; simply wear the right undies for the right trouser!!
One boob Problem
It is not appealing to make your twins appear as one. A familiar problem with large chested ladies who wear bras that compress the boobs in the name of making them appear a cup smaller. The best option would be to wear up lifters rather than compressors.
This caused by wearing bras that have lost their shape and provide insufficient support. Additionally, vigorous movements may damage the breast ligaments leading to sagging. Whether you are a cup size A or D, a sports bra is a must while exercising if you want to keep your twins on point!
